Dr. Karla Reimer, optometrist

Dr. Karla Reimer, optometristDr. Karla Reimer grew up in southern Manitoba, except for a few years in Jamaica and Lesotho with her missionary parents. After high school she taught English in Egypt for a year.  She returned to Winnipeg for her Science Degree, and graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1995 with her Doctor of Optometry degree.  Since that time, caring for the vision and ocular health needs of her patients has become her passion.  Spending quality time with each patient allows her to identify and address individual areas of concern, and to develop relationships on a more personal level.  She has a long-term mandate to provide the community with the highest quality eye care through a professional team, dedicated to outstanding service.

Dr. Stephanie Moore, optometrist

Dr. Stephanie Moore, optometristDr. Stephanie Moore was born and raised in the small town of Canmore, Alberta. She began her University career at the University of Lethbridge, completing two years of pre-Optometry before continuing on to the University of Waterloo where she completed her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007. She strives to deliver the highest standard of patient care while developing personal relationships and keeping current within optometry’s constantly evolving profession.  The oldest of six children, she loves working with kids. She is very excited to be relocating to the Okanagan Valley with her fiancé to be closer to her family.

Janette Sedmak, licensed optician

Janette Sedmak, licensed optician Janette Sedmak has more than 20 years of experience working in Optometry clinics, and came to Lake Country in 1980.  She has been at this clinic since it began in 1994.  As a licensed optician, she also enjoys helping you select a frame, finding the right lenses to suit your needs, and will make any adjustments your current frame requires.



Jen Stamp, optometric assistant

Jen Stamp, optometric assistant Jen Stamp is new to the Optometry profession; she comes to us after completing the Business Technology program at UBCO.  She looks forward to attaining her Optician’s Licence and continuing her studies within the Optometric field.  Jen has lived in the Lake Country community for 9 years.  You may have met her through Turtle Town, her licensed family childcare center, which she operated for 4 years.


Jean Manning, licensed optician

Jean Manning, lab managerJean Manning has worked in the optical industry for 17 years.  She started as a lab trainee in a BC chain store.  She was promoted to lab manager, and then store manager.  In the last 10 years she has worked throughout the Okanagan as a licensed optician. Jean and her husband Mike, have lived in Lake Country for 6 years.



June Brown, optometric assistant

June Brown, optometric assistantJune Brown, her husband Jim and five kids emigrated from South West Scotland to Canada in October 2001. They initially lived north of Regina, Saskatchewan, where they owned a small farm and a business - a gas station and coffee shop. They decided to make the move west and after visiting the Okanagan, they chose Lake Country as the place to make their home - a decision they have been very happy with! Before moving to Canada, June's career background was in teaching but now, with the help of the staff at Lake Country Optometry, she is enjoying the challenge of a completely new career path!

Tina DeRoche, receptionist

Tina DeRoche, receptionist Tina DeRoche comes to us with 15 years of combined medical reception experience.  You will usually find Tina at the front desk, welcoming patients, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments.  She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, animals and chocolate.  She lives in Kelowna with her husband Peter, and grown daughters, Dominique and Christine.
